After the major retailers, Food4All, a startup specialising in the fight against food waste, is now tackling the HORECA sector. From 28 September, the 17,000 users of the application will be able to reserve unsold dishes or products in partner restaurants, pastry shops, grab & go stores and also supermarkets.

If supermarkets throw away a lot of unsold products, unfortunately, the restaurant industry is not left behind. The two sectors together account for 12% of waste in Europe. F4A, determined to tackle the problem head on, first proposed technological solutions and an application to food distribution chains in Luxembourg.

To go further, the startup is launching a new service, F4A Takeaway. From 28 September, the more than 17,000 F4A users will be able to save dishes or Takeaway bags filled with food products offered by various partners: restaurants, cafés, pastry shops, bakeries, supermarkets and grab & go stores, from being thrown away.

An important step in the fight against waste

In addition to being involved in the fight against food waste, and therefore benefiting from a positive image with 17,000 potential new customers who are concerned about the environment, the F4A Takeaway partner retailers will be able to increase their income thanks to these additional sales.

This is a win-win solution for both the owners of these establishments and the consumers. F4A users will be able to find out which products/dishes are “close to expiry” at the new F4A partners. The F4A Takeaway bags - made of recycled paper - will be offered at attractive prices on the application.
