Connections matter

Since the start of the COVID-19 crisis two years ago, businesses have been going through a difficult period. However, while the economic forecasts will remain very uncertain in the months ahead, one thing is sure: connecting with the right people is key.

Whether in times of crisis or prosperity, an entrepreneur running a scaling startup needs to build a valuable network. At Startup Luxembourg, we know this and do everything we can to facilitate the right connections, both at the national and the international level.

Involving our partners

 Last month, Startup Luxembourg participated in the economic mission to Portugal, which took place in the context of the State visit, and organised a startup event.

The objective of this event was to create favourable conditions to facilitate fruitful connections between our two startup ecosystems. We called on our Portuguese partners to invite entrepreneurs, investors and other local players to participate. Startup Portugal and Startup Lisboa, as well as Vodafone power lab and Build up labs, supported us in promoting our event to their networks and help us reach a maximum of startups interested in Luxembourg.

A campaign on social media, as well as a mailing to Portuguese entrepreneurs already registered in our database, completed the communication around the event. The result was a full house –around 120 persons– and a networking cocktail that was very much appreciated by all the participants.

With or without a national pavilion 

Startup Luxembourg is now focusing on Vivatech in Paris and Collision in Toronto, which take place a week apart later this month. We will launch ambitious communication campaigns and work with our local partners to disseminate information about our presence.

For the second part of the year, we are already starting to prepare Web Summit and Slush, where we will be part of the delegations set up by the Chamber of Commerce and organise side events.
