RespectUs, a Luxembourg Fit4Start graduate in the space vertical of the 2020 edition, has launched in April 2023 its RespectUs Academy, dedicated to trainings in export control and space related topics.
RespectUs Academy is empowering companies to stay compliant with export control regulations in the digital age. Founded in 2019, RespectUs has developed an innovative platform (www.respectus.eu) to help users navigate the complexities of export control compliance, manage and implement internal processes to demonstrate compliance with export control regulations and sanctions.
The SaaS, or software-as-a-service, has been validated by the European Space Agency (ESA) in March 2023.
The Export Control courses, trainings and workshops, which were all created by RespectUs and very unique in Europe, will equip participants with basic and advanced understanding of the key elements of export control compliance and help them overcome the challenges in daily compliance work.
These courses, trainings and workshops are available on-site, online and in hybrid mode.
Introductory courses on export control will take place in June 2023, in English, German, and French language. Topics for the second semester this year will include product classification, sanctions & embargoes, customer due diligence and end-use checks. All courses in 2023 are free of charge and open to all participants.
Courses for space companies are also available. In May 2023, a workshop titled “Contracts in the space sector” with Sigrid Heirbrant from Nautadutilh focused on contract negotiation and management in the space sector. 20 participants from the space ecosystem attended this event. Additional space related courses are in preparation.
