Kidola, the Luxembourg startup in the childcare sector raised 600k via Project Rise to support its growth.
Kidola is offering an app for child care professionals (Crèche, Foyer, maison relais) to simplify their administrative tasks and improve communication. Educators fill in information about the children’s day. Parents receive daily reports and pictures while the manager runs everything on Kidola.
Kidola raised 600k€ with Project Rise, a recent investment initiative led by former Luxembourg tech entrepreneurs Christophe Folschette (Talkwalker), Thibaut Britz (Talkwalker) and Patrick Kersten (Doctena, MediNation). In addition to support the project with capital, they will also share their entrepreneurial experiences.
Patrick Kersten : “The team has developed a great product that’s both fun and useful, for parents as well as educators. We got involved to help them replicate their success outside of Luxembourg”.
Expanding to Belgium
Indeed Kidola now has its eyes set on Belgium with already more than 25 daycares using the app. The application to the Young Innovative Enterprise programme will potentially further increase the growth.
Kidola was founded 2,5 years ago based on the founders’ experience as parents. The app improved thanks to user feedback. What started out as a side project quickly grew and was kickstarted by accelerator programme Fit4Sart #10.
The app is being used by over 200 daycares and 15.000 parents. Kidola is incubated in the Innovation Hub in Dudelange, alongside other eco-friendly startups.
Jonathan, co-founder of Kidola : “digitising makes it possible to focus on what really matters: the wellbeing of the children. Managers can invoice parents in just a few minutes. In most cases they save half a day of work per month on top of saving a lot of paper.”
